Hello, I'm Shirley M. Banks and Welcome to The Recipe Co-Lab!

My journey into the culinary world began in 1997, when I attempted to recreate a recipe from a Weight Watchers cookbook while pregnant with my first daughter. The result was far from perfect, but it ignited a passion for cooking that has only grown over the years. Since then, I've immersed myself in cooking courses, cake decorating classes, and even ventured into urban gardening, all in pursuit of creating delicious, wholesome food. â€‹

Cooking is deeply personal to me, rooted in family traditions. My paternal grandmother was renowned for her cream cheese pound cake--a recipe she passed down to my mom. When my grandmother could no longer bake, my mom took over, adding her own tweaks. Now, I've been entrusted with carrying on this legacy, and I've added a few touches of my own to make the recipe uniquely mine. â€‹

At The Recipe Co-Lab, my mission is to preserve these cherished family recipes and memories, while also helping others create new culinary experiences. I believe that cooking is more than just preparing food; it's a way to connect with our past, share love in the present, and inspire future generations!​
